As often as possible, I pre-diagnose and if needed, pre-order parts so that I can show up one time and complete the repair. I also do not mark up my parts above retail like most every other company. I purchase wholesale and sell below retail, so you save money and I still make a fair profit. I also offer a full 1 year warranty on my diagnosis, my labor, and parts. How much is your service call?
In order to be more transparent, my service call "includes" up to 45 minutes of labor. Often, that's all I end up charging unless I need parts or a second trip. Service call ranges from $139 to $179 depending on how far away you are.., i.e (up to 20 minutes away, between 20 and 40 minutes, or between 40 and 60 minutes) Most of my customers are at the $159 charge, which as I stated, includes labor.. Think of it as $64.50 service call and $64.50 labor combined into one charge..
How much do you charge for installations?
Since I charge a flat rate based on time for installations, there is no labor in the service call. I charge half my service call plus the flat rate. The flat rate runs from $139 to $179 depending on the type of install, or shifts to hourly on long installs such as built in refrigerators
