Gen. Kenneth Baldwin began his career with the First Judicial District Attorney’s Office in October 1984. “I have always had the desire to serve victims to the best of my ability. I felt that the only way I could fulfill this desire was to become a prosecutor.” During his tenure, he has prosecuted and conducted numerous trials in General Sessions, Criminal and Juvenile Courts in all four counties within the 1st Judicial District. Upon the sudden passing of District Attorney Gen. Tony Clark, Gen. Baldwin was appointed to the position of District Attorney General in April 2018. In August 2018, a “special election” was held and he became the duly elected District Attorney General for the 1st District. He serves the communities of Carter, Johnson, Unicoi and Washington counties. Gen. Baldwin is married to his wife, Yvonne, and has two daughters and three grandchildren.
