A Law Practice Built on Expertise and Client Trust
Drawing on two decades of experience as an attorney, Alan Hall, PLC, brings to each case a diverse wealth of expertise — combining the law, banking, business, engineering, technology, and leadership in state government agencies — that gives him added insight into a range of issues.
Alan’s practice has achieved particular expertise in employment law, general business law, risk management, regulatory/policy interpretation and drafting, and church-state legal issues. Alan also is a Rule 31-certified mediator. He has been named an Attorney for Justice by the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Background & Experience
Alan began his legal career with a leading mid-South law firm in 1996, where he served as an associate for six years. He handled a variety of legal and business law services, including banking mergers and acquisitions, regulatory representation, litigation for the construction industry, contract negotiations for businesses and individuals as well as bankruptcy, collections and general business law.
Subsequently, Alan served as an executive in Tennessee State Government for 10 years. He was the Department of Human Service’s first Inspector General, where he increased collections, reduced audit findings and improved the employee background check process, along with other significant accomplishments.
Prior to working in State Government and law, Alan had a successful career in banking. He was a vice president and branch manager, and he also held system-wide positions as bank compliance officer and company Reinvestment Act officer.
Philosophy
“I believe we have too much ‘uncivil discourse’ in our country. Both as an attorney and as a mediator, I work to resolve disagreements in a positive way. I am committed to addressing disputes civilly and ethically.” – Alan Hall
General Counsel / Consulting Services
Many small and medium-sized businesses can benefit from having immediate access to legal expertise but find the cost of a full-time general counsel to be prohibitive. Alan Hall bridges this gap through flexible arrangements that make his legal and business consulting expertise available as needed by the client. In this capacity, Alan provides business clients with the same range of services they could expect from an on-staff general counsel, as well as expert consultations on a range of business issues:
As an alternative to traditional lump-sum or hourly billing structures, Alan offers flexible fee arrangements based on clients’ needs, including checkpoints at various stages of the process to determine if clients want to pursue specific issues further.
